Womad 2017-a weekend of camping, world music and culture

Following the success of Sam’s Womad festival experience last year, house staff were excited to offer the opportunity as second year running. This year Sam’s fellow resident Harry, joined in for a weekend of camping, world music and culture. Both young people and their team of staff met at Tyndale on the Friday of the event and made their way to the festival site near Malmesbury.

Once the tents were pitched and the camp set up everyone was eager to explore the festival site. The weekend went off with a bang with a multitude of musical performances, long walks around the arena, eating street food, stomping around in the mud and plenty of dancing. By Sunday afternoon everyone seemed ready for the drive back home and spent the next couple of days recovering from the sheer enjoyment of it all.
