Orchard Leigh have recently merged with our Charity, Camphill Communities Thornbury. The Charity and Company will remain the same, however the name will be changed to reflect the fact that our activities will not all be based in Thornbury.

THE SHEILING SCHOOL, THE HATCH, ORCHARD LEIGH
Dear residents, staff, families and friends
I am delighted to tell you that, following the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, all the necessary decisions have been formally made and the papers signed and so Thornleigh Camphill Communities will come into being at midnight between 31st March and 1st April.
Most of you know that we have been working towards this for the past six months. Thornleigh is the new name for the charitable company which now comprises The Sheiling School, The Hatch and Orchard Leigh.
Most of you will not notice a great deal of difference in the way things are done in the community in which you have a special interest although there will be more opportunities for sharing facilities, homes, work and social events between the two adult communities – though you may see some new people visiting from time to time. The trustees of Orchard Leigh have joined those of Camphill Communities Thornbury on the newly named board and we are happy to have that additional expertise to strengthen the governance circle.
