Michaelmas Land Activity Day

A wonderful day was spent in glorious sunshine by pupils and staff working on various land projects and Michaelmas preparations.
We also celebrated Rikke’s birthday (our Head of Education) with some delicious homemade cakes that she made for us! (It is a Danish custom that was very much appreciated by one and all!)

Some of the activities were:
WILLOW TUNNEL – Trim all long branches and soak the rods in water for future
AVALON – Weeding
CREATE SEATING AREA BEHIND AVALON FOR THE WOODLAND CLASS – Weed, clear and tidy
AVALON GARDEN – Complete fence, clear fire place, general weeding, repair roof on shed
GARAGE – Tidy and clear rubbish away
HERB GARDEN – Complete design and plant
WATER BUTT- Make stand and attach to wall
LEAF COLLAGE / ST. MICHAEL AND THE DRAGON FELT LEAVES
HARVESTING AT SUNSHINE ORGANICS – Harvest vegetables for the soup
CHICKEN PEN – Digging
HARVESTING AT THE HATCH – Harvest vegetables for the harvest altar
