Governance
Thornleigh Camphill Communities (TCC) is seeking to strengthen and diversify its Board with the appointment of new governors and trustees.
“Becoming a Governor”
Thornleigh Camphill Communities (TCC) is a registered charity with a 60 year history of caring for children and adults with learning disabilities in both Sheiling School, a residential Steiner special school, and The Hatch Camphill Community, a supported living setting situated in the historic small town of Thornbury, near Bristol and Orchard Leigh Camphill Community in Eastington, Gloucestershire
This is an exciting opportunity to become involved with the governance of a school which continues to develop and grow.
Meetings are held six times a year, during the evening and attendance can be in person or remotely. Governors take on small project work from time to time, depending on their availability, and this may require commitment to additional days. Whilst this role is unpaid, reasonable expenses are payable in line with the Charity Commission guidelines. The governor’s role does not include becoming a Trustee of the charity. If you are interested to join the Board of Trustees, please check the information under ‘Becoming a Trustee’ below.
Thornleigh Camphill Communities is committed to equality of opportunity and will consider applications from all members of the community, whatever their background.

TCC is proud to have been consistently praised by the Care Quality Commission and Ofsted for the quality of the services delivered. Trustees are expected to take a keen interest in the careful operation and future direction of the charity, so we are particularly keen to attract people who can provide strategic thinking, possess established professional and personal networks, and with expertise in finance and SEN schools.
