Although we are seeking to extend our registration to enable increased pupil numbers in the future, we do not anticipate being in a position to consider any new admissions before September 2020.
We remain committed to meeting the needs of individuals as well as our partner authorities and look forward to welcoming new applications once again in the next school year.
In the meantime, please continue to check this page for the most up-to-date information. If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that due to fact that the school is currently full, we are not in a position to arrange any visits before mid-April 2020 at the earliest
Sheiling School is registered to admit pupils aged 6 to 19 as day pupils, weekly and full boarders. Currently most admissions are for day placements with fewer weekly/termly placements for 38 weeks and 52 weeks per year.
We welcome applications for children and young people from any social, religious and ethnic background.
Admissions – Making Your Decision
Before you begin the admissions process, we know that you will want to be confident that Sheiling School is the right school for your child. The best way to find this out is by coming to visit us.
Please note that due to the fact that the school is currently full, we are not in a position to arrange any visits until mid-April 2020.
When we are in a position to resume our visiting opportunities, the following steps requests will be made:
Before a visit can be arranged, we will ask you to complete a ‘Visit form’ which asks for very brief information about your child’s needs. This will give us an opportunity to make a very tentative, initial assessment of your child’s needs and suitability so that we can ensure a) that your visit is purposeful and b) that we may welcome further assessment if this is requested by the funding authority.
If a visit is scheduled, you will be welcome to come, either with or without your child and you’ll be able to tour the site and see our facilities. You can also meet our staff, and talk to us about any concerns that you have or ask us questions.
The main steps in the admission procedure are as follows:
- We ask you for relevant reports to consider your child’s needs in detail
- If we can be of help we will arrange for you to visit the school
- Once a place is offered and funding is confirmed, we will work on transition
