Amazing ‘live’ performances at Summer Concert

On Friday 22nd May our very talented pupils and staff gave an afternoon concert programme including two original  short plays written and performed  by Joseph and Jamie with some additional support from their assistants  Izzy, Emma and Francis. They were each given a brief of developing a script around only one ordinary object : a candle holder and a mug! The results were astounding….. Well done to all.

This was followed by by Brook and Dean our new fantastic guitar duo, who sang and played a Laura Marling song called ‘Walk Alone’.  Brook is a big fan…This was an incredible performance and can now be viewed on You Tube here:

We then had  the amazing Woodland Class drummers , with a debut performance by Cameron on djembe. They sang and drummed  a song especially written by our music therapist Marcus, who has a weekly outdoor session with the class. Marcus incidentally will be leading a drumming workshop at our summer fair on 13th June!

So next came Niall who led Class 2 and the whole school in a wonderful rendition of ‘ The Crows Song’ and then ended the concert with his original composition entitled ‘The Gift’ which  he wrote as our  Eco-Code for the  Silver Eco-School Award. This will soon released as a ‘professional’ recording when he has put the final touches to the production and will be published on YouTube.

We extend our huge thanks to all involved and especially to Dean for opening the afternoon with one of his original songs (accompanied by Anita who played beautiful piano) and for leading the event.

Finally in traditional ‘Sheiling School Friday Afternoon’ style ………..the Ice Cream took centre stage!!!!

Happy half term holiday to all pupils, parents, staff and friends of the Sheiling School.
