Our 40th Carol Concert with Thornbury Choral Society

Amazingly our annual carol concert has now reached its 40th year and as always this was a truly special event enjoyed by all our children, young people, staff, parents and friends. I have it on good authority that the joy was equally shared by all the choir members under the expert guidance of Kate who has faithfully kept up the contact every year. In days of old when we had many more residential pupils, the concert was always in the evening with the traditional after show celebration of mince pies and wine. With more and more day pupils at the school the timing has now changed to a Friday afternoon so that we can have maximum attendance and of course maximum enjoyment. This year the school invited the choir members to Avalon garden to share in our refreshments (slight menu change to Lebkuchen and non-alcoholic mulled wine!) It was very lovely to all mix and mingle around the open fire….maybe next year some chestnuts roasting too and if the weather is this warm again, why we could even have an outdoor concert?

On behalf of us all at the Sheiling School, we thank you all so much for this wonderful experience and wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and New Year.

Enjoy the photos……..
