Each house-community works as an extended family. Each household has an experienced resident houseparent. Supervision from a resident Senior Care co-ordinator ensures a high quality of care.

  • We provide high quality individual care and support.
  • Regular contact with parents or guardians is encouraged.
  • We offer a warm and friendly home life which encourages friendships and a sense of team spirit.
  • A named support staff member is allocated to each pupil.

  • Common mealtimes and familiar and predictable routines foster daily practice in life and social skills at the pupils’ own pace.
  • The school is situated in safe and beautiful surroundings in which children are able to walk to school with minimal supervision, which fosters confidence and independence.
  • Weekends and leisure time include a variety of supported activities on the estate and in the local community.
  • Our pupils benefit from a well balanced diet of home made food.
  • Our own organic farm and gardens provide the majority of meat and vegetables for the community.

All pupils experience a continuity of key staff, who have dual roles in both house and the class room.  Such links allow staff to meet the pupils’ personal and social needs throughout the whole day, and to help to integrate personal goals into life outside of the class room.
